Our Wellness Center

Currently under construction, Family Life Education's Children's Wellness Center will be the first facility of its kind in the Northeast to implement a spectrum of wellness strategies while incorporating early learning opportunities and hands-on education/practice for parents.

Early Childhood Development

Partnering with other organizations, Family Life Education Center will offer a variety of culturally competent activities, such as:

  • An early learning program for infants/toddlers that incorporates the latest brain research and supports children’s cognitive development;
  • Educating parents about the importance of talking to their infants/toddlers, and in utero, to stimulate language development;
  • Testing gross/fine motor skills and other developmental milestones;
  • Training parents how to monitor their children’s progress;
  • Educating parents about practices at home that will support their children’s learning and development;
  • Nutritional cooking (with a full-scale kitchen);
  • Gardening (indoor and outdoor);
  • Childhood dental screenings;
  • Adult health screenings, including mobile mammography;
  • Fresh food distribution through Foodshare’s mobile services;
  • Physical strengthening (yoga, tumbling, movement); and
  • Zumba classes for children and families.
