Children are screened for developmental delays:
- every two months until age 2
- every three months until age 3, and
- every six months until age 6
44 children have been referred for early intervention- saving thousands of tax dollars from special education spending
Parents learn how to help their children speak and read through early literacy and speech workshops like Lee y Seras (Read and You Will Become), Raising Readers and Let's Talk, It Makes a Difference.
This is the type of work supported by Lincoln Financial Foundation through their recent grant of $10,000.
One mother now participating in Lee y Seras says: My days were always boring. Then I remembered to go to Family Life Education- an educational program!...
I have attended every session and learned something new very time. And my days have completely changed- now in my free time and when my husband is not working, we always have something to do- now we know how to sing, dance or read together. All thanks to this program- Lee y Seras- Gracias!
